Paper Templates

I know this is a little off the topic of online scrapbooking, but I love these paper templates and it is something that I do to come with ideas for designs within my digital scrapbooking software...

I visit my local scrapbooking shop, look at the new paper designs and if I really like one, I will buy it and then go about designing something similar in my digital program... or even better, if you subscribe to a great service, you can ask for it to be created for you!

I prefer to create my own, it is more fun, to me anyway!

Digital Scrapbooking - what's it all about?

I love scrapbooking. Don't you?! I love the feel of the different papers, the colors, the different embelishments, the little crafty things you can add and most of all I love making a new page, creating memories for years to come.

So, it was no surprise when I heard about digital scrapbooking that I was quickly interested and wanted to know all I could about it. And, when I found out that it was all about scrapbooking online, I was elated! I love working on the computer and to be able to combine two of my passions... well, it was just heaven.

So, what is digital scrapbooking? Basically, it is scrapbooking online. There are hundres of programs out there that you can use to create your own online album. They all come loaded with page designs, layouts etc and the best thing I love about digital scrapbooking is that you can print them out on photo paper and have them bound and you have a very professional looking album!

I have had many visitors comment on my digital scrapbooking albums when they flick through them (they sit on my coffee table) and ask where I had them done... and when I say I created them, they want to know all about how I did it!

As with anything online, the sky is the limit and with most of the programs, you can create your own designs, layouts etc. And if you still like a bit of traditional scrapbooking, you add physical emelishments, tags etc once you have the album printed out... the best of both worlds.

Have you heard about Scrapblog?!

I was astounded when I came across this in my news reading this morning! There is a new blog about to hit the streets and it's called "Scrapblog". I am so excited about this new idea as it expands on digital scrapbooking and allows you to drop and drag your photos, videos, texts... you name it, it will do it. And best of all, it is free to join!

Here is an exerpt from a news article about it:

"Scrapblog is presenting at DEMO this week and their new software is a great example of just how much can be done by web based applications. It’s a Flash application that lets users drag and drop photos, video, text and audio onto a background image to build scrapbooks that can be printed as a photo-book, burned to DVD, exported as a photoset to Flickr and soon will be exportable to YouTube and other video sites as a narrated slide show."

Zoom in to see the Beauty...

I just love this layout! And the best thing about it is that it was done via digital scrapbooking!! I love the fact that you can manipulate your photos in such a way that you just could not "physically" if you were "manually" scrapbooking.
